Education: UDISE+ Data Entry Deadline Extended to September 30; Integration with SARAL Set to Reduce Teachers’ Administrative Load
Pune, 21st July 2025: As the academic year 2025–26 gets underway, all schools in Maharashtra have been directed to update their institutional records on the Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) portal by September 30, according to a circular issued by the Maharashtra Prathamik Shikshan Parishad (MPSP).
This mandatory process includes data related to infrastructure, faculty, student demographics, and learning resources. A key feature introduced this year is the integration of UDISE+ with the SARAL portal, which aims to ease the administrative workload on schools by ensuring a single-point data entry system.
In the directive, State Project Director Sanjay Yadav stated that once information is uploaded on the UDISE+ platform, it will now automatically sync with the SARAL (Systematic Administrative Reforms for Achieving Learning) portal. Previously, schools were required to input similar data separately into both systems.
The following institutional data must be entered by schools:
-Name and designation of headmasters
-School location and type of curriculum
-Details of pre-primary sections
-Infrastructure and available facilities
-Internet availability and digital tools
-Indicators for the Performance Grading Index (PGI)
In terms of student data, updates are required on enrollment trends from Grades 2 to 12, promotions, re-admissions, dropout numbers, and students with disabilities. Schools are also asked to verify Aadhaar details of newly enrolled students, building on the 95% Aadhaar registration rate achieved in 2024–25.
The circular stresses the importance of accurate information for all teaching staff. In 2024–25, 93% of teachers had their Aadhaar numbers verified. This year, any remaining discrepancies in teacher data must be corrected to ensure full compliance.
Also, with 86% of student records already updated on the UDISE+ system, schools must obtain written parental consent for those students whose records are still not Aadhaar-linked.
To ensure smooth implementation, district and taluka-level workshops will be organized under the guidance of Zilla Parishad primary education officers. These sessions will address technical issues related to online data entry and will assist schools in aligning their records for budgeting and PGI evaluation purposes.
