Pune Flood Alert: Khadakwasla Dam Releases 35,310 Cusecs Into Mutha River
Pune, 19th August 2025: The irrigation department has announced an increase in water discharge from Khadakwasla Dam into the Mutha River on Tuesday evening.
According to officials, the ongoing discharge of 29,084 cusecs has been raised to 35,310 cusecs from 7 pm. Authorities have cautioned that further changes in water release are possible depending on rainfall and inflow into the reservoir.
Residents and those staying near the riverbanks have been urged to remain vigilant as water levels in the Mutha River are expected to rise. The Sub-Divisional Engineer of Mutha Canal Irrigation Sub-Division, Mohan Bhadane, issued the advisory.
The department also clarified that water discharge may be reduced or increased again depending on weather conditions.
