Pune: Grand Arrival Procession of Pune’s First Honoured Kasba Ganpati Scheduled for August 27

Pune, 26th August 2025: The arrival procession of Pune’s first honoured Ganpati, Shri Kasba Ganpati, will be held with great pomp and devotion on August 27, 2025. The procession will commence at 8:00 a.m. from the festival mandap. The idol, sculpted by renowned artist Abhijit Dhondphale, will begin its journey from his residence near Power House in Rasta Peth and proceed via Apollo Cinema, Daruwala Pool, Fadke Haud, and Ganesh Road to the festival pavilion.

Adding a traditional and festive charm to the grand procession, renowned troupes such as Sangharsh Dhol Pathak, Shriram Dhol Pathak, Abhedya Dhol Pathak, and Prabhat Band will perform. The Devlankar brothers’ traditional nagara performance will further enhance the cultural atmosphere.

Consecration Ceremony by Swami Savitanand Maharaj:
The consecration (pranpratishtha) of Shri Kasba Ganpati will take place at 11:37 a.m. under the guidance of eminent spiritual guru and author Swami Savitanand Maharaj. Swamiji is known for his deep study of Vedic chants, Hindu philosophy, and his impactful discourses. Before embracing asceticism, he worked as a chemical engineer at the Tata Group. Post-sanyas, he established an ashram in Tarsad, Surat district, and today has a vast following across Maharashtra and Gujarat.

This year’s arrival procession and consecration ceremony are expected to witness an overwhelming turnout of devotees and Punekars, celebrating the occasion with unparalleled grandeur.
