Mulshi, 6th September 2025: Mulshi Dam, one of the major reservoirs in Pune district, is currently 98% full, prompting authorities to issue precautions for residents and visitors.
Tata Power officials announced that the discharge from the dam into the Mula River via the spillway at 1,300 cusecs will be increased to 2,946 cusecs at 11:00 AM today. The discharge may be adjusted further depending on ongoing rainfall and changes in water levels.
Suresh Kondubhairi of Tata Power advised the public, “Everyone is requested not to enter the riverbed. If any material, livestock, or animals are present in the riverbed, they should be moved immediately. Residents in low-lying areas should be informed and take necessary precautions.”
Authorities emphasized maintaining vigilance, especially for those living downstream, to prevent accidents or damage in case of sudden changes in water flow.
