Hinjawadi, 8th September 2025: Serious safety concerns have been raised over the crumbling road conditions in the Megapolis Saffron locality of Hinjewadi Phase 3, where commuters and IT employees are grappling daily with potholes, debris, and muddy stretches.

NCP MP Supriya Sule has taken to social media to raise serious concerns about the road conditions in the Hinjewadi Phase 3. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sule highlighted the daily struggles faced by residents and IT professionals navigating pothole-ridden, muddy roads strewn with debris.

“The road conditions in Hinjewadi Phase 3, especially near Megapolis Saffron, are extremely dangerous. Despite repeated follow-ups with PMRDA and MIDC, no concrete action has been taken. Several accidents have already occurred. This is unacceptable. I urge the state government to address the issue on priority,” Sule stated in her post.

Accident-Prone Zone:
Local residents describe the stretch as a “death trap”, particularly for two-wheeler riders. Potholes filled with water, scattered construction debris, and the absence of signage have turned daily travel into a hazardous experience. Commuters say the risks peak during rush hours, when IT professionals and office-goers crowd the narrow, uneven roads.

Citizens’ groups have been following up with both the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) for months, but repairs are yet to begin. Residents allege that, despite multiple written complaints and reminders, agencies have failed to carry out even basic inspections.

Local IT employees and housing society members are now appealing to both the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and PMRDA to urgently take up road repairs. Until then, commuters have been advised to exercise extreme caution while using the stretch.

The growing frustration highlights the broader issue of inadequate infrastructure in one of Pune’s fastest-growing IT hubs, where poor road conditions are now compromising both productivity and public safety.
