Pune Gears Up for Drone Show, Disability Camp, and Musical Tribute to Mark PM Modi’s Birthday
Pune, 12th September 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday will be celebrated in Pune with a unique blend of technology, social service, and cultural festivities. Union Minister of State Murlidhar Mohol announced on Thursday that the city will host a week-long series of events under the nationwide Seva Pakhwada campaign.
Pune’s First 3D Drone Show
For the first time ever, Pune will witness a large-scale 3D drone show on September 16, the eve of the Prime Minister’s birthday. The spectacle, titled “Jyotine Tejachi Aarti” (an offering of light through flame), will feature thousands of synchronized drones forming dazzling aerial patterns. The 45-minute show, inspired by similar presentations in Ayodhya and Varanasi, will be held at SP College Grounds, and will narrate India’s journey toward a “Developed Bharat.”
Residents within a 3–4 km radius will be able to view the performance lighting up Pune’s night sky.
Earlier in the day, from 2 pm to 6 pm, the same venue will host a disability assistance camp providing aid and support to differently-abled citizens. This initiative reflects the service-oriented spirit of the Seva Pakhwada campaign.
The evening will see renowned musician and playback singer Avadhoot Gupte take the stage from 5 pm to 10 pm, performing a special concert before the much-anticipated drone show begins at 8 pm.
Adding a personal touch to the celebrations, 75,000 school students from Pune will send handwritten postcards of birthday wishes to the Prime Minister. These will be compiled and delivered directly to him as part of the campaign.
Mohol said the idea behind the week-long program is not just to celebrate but to combine service, innovation, and cultural pride.
