Pune, 18th September 2025: Pune Airport celebrated Yatri Sewa Diwas on September 17 with a host of activities focused on hospitality, sustainability, cultural heritage, and passenger welfare. The day-long program combined traditional gestures with modern outreach initiatives, aiming to enhance the passenger experience while promoting community engagement.

The celebrations began with passengers being welcomed with tika and rose buds, accompanied by a briefing on the significance of the occasion. Adding a cultural dimension, regional folk performances including Ganesh Vandana, Koli Geet, Waghya Murali, Jogava, and Varkari Nrutya were staged inside the terminal, carefully coordinated to ensure minimal disruption to passenger movement.

In a symbolic gesture of environmental responsibility, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mohol, joined airport staff and passengers in a plantation drive within the airport premises. The initiative underscored the airport’s commitment to sustainability and collective participation.

Passengers and visitors also engaged in creative and recreational activities. A painting competition for toddlers was organized at the terminal, while interactive photo booths at the Arrivals, Check-in, and Security Hold Area attracted significant participation.

The day also featured public welfare initiatives. A blood donation camp in association with the Red Cross Society saw 32 voluntary donors, while a free health check-up benefited 142 passengers. In addition, 89 drivers underwent specialized eye check-ups at the airport’s city-side area.

Educational outreach was another highlight of the celebrations. Students were taken on a guided airport tour that included an orientation on aviation careers, designed to introduce them to opportunities in the sector.

Airport officials said the objective of Yatri Sewa Diwas was to blend cultural expression, environmental awareness, and community welfare while maintaining operational efficiency. With active participation from passengers, staff, and the local community, Pune Airport marked the occasion as a meaningful and memorable celebration.
