Pune: DYPIU Welcomes Freshers with Diksharambh 2025–26 Induction Program
Akurdi, 20th September 2025: D Y Patil International University (DYPIU), Akurdi, marked the beginning of the new academic session with the Diksharambh 2025–26 Induction Program, a day that celebrated inspiration, leadership, and cultural expression.
The Guests of Honour, Mr. Prasad Shetye, Executive Vice President, Capgemini Engineering GBL India, and Dr. Sushil Tiwari, Chief Digital Officer, FloCard, addressed the gathering. Mr. Shetye emphasized the importance of adaptability in a technology-driven world, saying, “Technology will not take away jobs, but those who do not embrace change will face risks.” Dr. Tiwari urged students to remain agile and curious: “The future belongs to those who can learn, unlearn, and relearn with speed.”
Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Manish Bhalla welcomed the students, sharing DYPIU’s vision. “We are building an ecosystem that blends innovation, interdisciplinary education, and holistic growth, ensuring that our students are prepared not just for jobs, but to be future changemakers,” he said.
Tejas S. Patil, Trustee, D Y Patil Pratishthan, reminded students of the university’s mission: “DYPIU is not just about academics, it is about creating leaders and innovators who will shape tomorrow’s society.”
Campus Director RAdm Amit Vikram (Retd) spoke about values, discipline, and responsibility. “University life is your training ground. Teamwork, leadership, and integrity learned here will guide you throughout your life,” he said.
From the academic leadership, Dr. Shashi Singh, Dean – R&D, shared her views on innovation and research. Dr. Madhavi Deshpande, Dean – Academics, gave the welcome address, and Dr. Madhura Jagtap, Controller of Examinations, encouraged students to maintain sincerity and responsibility.
A highlight of the program was the launch of the university’s publication, “The Now & The Next: Interdisciplinary Reflections,” symbolizing DYPIU’s commitment to thought leadership.
The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Registrar Dr. Beeran Moi
din, who acknowledged the contributions of guests, faculty, and students.
The Mehfil Club students added colour and vibrancy to the event through cultural performances that showcased their creativity and talent.
