Pune: Bishop’s School Camp Boxing Prodigy Hamza Shaikh Clinches Second Consecutive National Gold

Pune, 21st September 2025: In a remarkable display of grit, talent, and determination, Hamza Shaikh, a Class 9 student of The Bishop’s School, Camp, has once again stamped his authority on the national stage by winning the gold medal in the Under-17 (below 46 kg) category at the CISCE National Boxing Championship 2025–26. The tournament was held at the Ranital Sports Complex in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, from September 18 to 21.

This back-to-back triumph marks Hamza’s second consecutive national gold, following his first title last year in the Under-14 category—firmly establishing him as one of India’s brightest young boxing prospects. With this win, he has also secured a place in the prestigious School Games Federation of India (SGFI), a significant milestone in his sporting journey.

Expressing gratitude after his victory, Hamza said:

“I want to thank the Almighty, my parents and family, Principal Shayne McPherson, Headmaster C. Gaynor, my class teacher Pandey, coach Vikram Singh Hans, all PT teachers and coaches at The Bishop’s School, and my friends for their constant support and encouragement.”

Hamza began boxing at the age of 10 while in Class 5 and has since trained with relentless dedication at both Bishop’s Boxing Academy and Hans Boxing Academy under the mentorship of renowned former international coach Vikram Singh Hans.
