Pune: Prostitution Racket Busted at Spa in Kharadi; Four Booked, Three Women Rescued
Kharadi, 29th September 2025: Chandan Nagar Police on Monday raided a spa in Kharadi and busted a prostitution racket being run under the pretext of a massage parlour. Three women were rescued during the operation.
The raid took place at Sun Shine Spa, situated on the third floor of Ashoknagar Building, Kharadi Bypass Chowk, following a tip-off.
Police have booked the operators and managers of the spa — Sandeep Chavan, Rohit Shinde, Gopal (manager), and Swati alias Shweta Vijay Suryavanshi. They have been charged under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, along with relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Somay Munde (Zone 4) and Assistant Commissioner of Police Pranjali Sonawane (Yerwada Division).
The raid team, led by Senior Police Inspector Seema Dhakane of Chandan Nagar Police Station, included police officers and women constables.
According to police, the rescued women were shifted to a safe facility, and further investigation is underway.
