Kalyani Nagar, 2nd October 2025: The Yerawada police have filed a case against the manager of Kukoo Restaurant and Bar in Kalyani Nagar for playing loud music after the permitted hours on Tuesday, September 30, following complaints from local residents.

A police team, led by Assistant Police Inspector Dineshkumar Patil, visited the establishment around 12:30 am and found that staff were still serving food and liquor to about 12 customers, with music blaring loudly.

Senior Inspector Ravindra Shelke of Yerawada police station said, “After receiving a call from the control room, our night patrol reached the restaurant and found that the music could be heard from a considerable distance. Twelve patrons were still being served by the staff, in clear violation of the rules.”

The police have charged the manager under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 223 (disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant) and 293 (continuance of a public nuisance). “We have served a notice to the manager and requested his cooperation with the ongoing investigation,” added Shelke.

Following a Porsche accident in Kalyani Nagar in May 2024, Pune city police have stepped up monitoring of pubs, restaurants, and bars to ensure compliance with closing times and noise regulations. Under current rules, establishments may serve food and liquor until 1:30 am, but music must stop by 10 pm.
