Pune: Case Filed Against 20 After MLA Pathare Assaulted at Lohgaon Event

Lohgaon, 6th October 2025: A case has been registered against 20 individuals, including office bearers of the NCP faction led by Ajit Pawar, for allegedly assaulting NCP MLA Bapusaheb Pathare at an event in Lohgaon on Saturday night.

According to the complaint filed by MLA Pathare’s driver, Shakeel Ajmuddin Sheikh, the incident occurred at around 9:15 pm at a program organized at Gatha Lawn. The complaint alleges that during the event, a dispute broke out between workers of the NCP factions led by Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar.

The complaint states that MLA Pathare was pushed by the accused, and when his driver intervened to protect him, he was beaten up severely. During the altercation, a gold chain valued at Rs 50,000 and Rs 1,000 in cash were allegedly stolen from Sheikh.

Police said the investigation is ongoing under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Govind Jadhav.
