According to police records, Bhalerao allegedly used personal relationships to extort cash and valuables from three men. A case was registered against her on 17 September 2025 at Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station under sections 308(2), 308(6), and 308(7) of the BNS, citing threats, false complaints, and demands for extortion.

In view of the serious allegations, the police initiated action to arrest Bhalerao.
