Pune, 8th October 2025: Continuous rainfall since Wednesday afternoon has led to slow-moving traffic and waterlogging on several city roads, prompting the Pune City Traffic Police to issue a public advisory urging motorists to drive cautiously.

According to the advisory issued by Himmat Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pune City, the persistent rain has made roads wet and slippery, increasing the risk of accidents. “Traffic police personnel are deployed at major junctions and roads across the city to ensure smooth vehicular movement,” the advisory stated.

Commuters have been advised to drive slowly and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. The traffic police have also urged citizens to strictly follow signals, avoid illegal overtaking, and exercise extra caution while driving through waterlogged stretches.

The rainfall, which began in the afternoon, has affected traffic flow particularly in low-lying areas, leading to congestion during the evening rush hour.

Authorities have appealed to residents to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with traffic personnel managing the situation.
