Kondhwa, 9th October 2025: A massive joint search operation by Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Pune City Police, and central investigation agencies has been underway in the Kondhwa area of Pune since midnight.

According to sources, searches are being carried out at 18 locations, including Ashoka Mews society, where a “control room” and hub for the Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorist organisation was busted in 2008. There is a heavy deployment of police personnel in the area. A few suspects have been detained for questioning.

The coordinated operation has triggered widespread attention, not only in Maharashtra but across the country. Police officials have maintained tight secrecy about the operation, confirming only that it involves multiple state and central security agencies.

Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the detainees or the specific reasons behind the current searches. Senior police officers stated that more information will be shared once the operation concludes and preliminary interrogations are completed.
