Pune Police Action: Interpol Issues Blue Corner Notice Against Fugitive Gang Leader Nilesh Ghaywal
Pune: The Pune Police have taken action against ten members of the notorious Ghaywal gang under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). However, the gang’s head, Nilesh Ghaywal, has fled abroad before his arrest, prompting a city-wide and international search.
The Pune Police are actively investigating the Kothrud shooting incident, in which Ghaywal is the main accused. Efforts are underway to bring him back to India. As part of this initiative, the Pune Police wrote to Interpol requesting international assistance. In response, Interpol has now issued a ‘Blue Corner’ notice against Nilesh Ghaywal. Blue Corner Notices are issued to collect additional information, verify the identity, and track the whereabouts of individuals involved in criminal offences.
Earlier, Pune Police had raided a property linked to Ghaywal in Kothrud, seizing a large cache of valuables, two live cartridges, and unauthorized documents related to several lands. This action forms part of a broader strategy to corner Ghaywal from all sides and prevent him from evading law enforcement.
The hunt for Nilesh Ghaywal continues, with both local and international agencies now involved in the search to ensure that he faces justice.
