Pune: Two Dead, One Injured as Speeding PMPML Bus Rams Two-Wheeler Near Bhilarewadi
Katraj, 14th October 2025: Two people, including a young man and woman, were killed while another woman was injured after a speeding PMPML bus hit a two-wheeler from behind near Bhilarewadi on the old Katraj Ghat road on Tuesday morning.
According to police, the accident occurred around 9 am when the PMPML bus, travelling towards Katraj, rammed into a two-wheeler near the Bhilarewadi turn. The impact was so severe that both riders on the two-wheeler were thrown off the vehicle.
The deceased have been identified as Akash Ramdas Gogavale (29) and Anushka Prakash Wadkar (27), both residents of the same village near Pune. Akash was employed at a private firm in Bibwewadi, while Anushka was pursuing her studies at Sarhad College, Katraj.
Another woman, Neha Kailas Gogavale (20), a student of SNDT College and a resident of Sasewadi, Taluka Bhor, sustained injuries in the crash. She has been admitted to a private hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.
All three were reportedly travelling towards Pune when the accident took place. Following the crash, Ambegaon Senior Police Inspector Sharad Jhin and his team rushed to the spot, cleared the traffic congestion, and initiated an investigation.
A case has been registered against the bus driver, Sudhir Dilip Konde (42), a resident of Arvi, at the Ambegaon Police Station. The police have taken the driver into custody and sent him for a medical examination at Sassoon Hospital.
