MJ CUP HOCKEY 2025: Krida Prabodhini , Ctl Railway in summit clash

Pune, 18th October 2025: Krida Prabodhini Balewadi will take on Central Railway in the final of the Senior Section in the 4th M.J Cup Memorial Hockey Tournament Men 025 at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri, on Sunday.

The tournament is being conducted under the aegis of Hockey Maharashtra and Hockey Pune.

In the semi-finals of the Senior Section, Krida Prabodhini Balewadi put out Income Tax 4-2 via the tiebreaker after playing out a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Krida Prabodhini Balewadi had Karthik Pathare (10’) score first which was levelled by Income Tax’s Nitin Kumar (29’) to end full time 1-1. Changing ends, Sachin Rajgade, Kartik Pathare, Sachin Kolekar, Saiish Patil scored for Krida Prabodhini and Romesh Pillay and Mujjawar Raees netted for the losers.

In the other semi-final, Central Railway scored a facile 3-1 win over CTC Mumbai. Shreeyas Dhupe (14’); Love Kumar (18’) and Joginder Singh (36’) scored for Central Railway. While CTC Mumbai reduced through Amin Patnav (36’).

The finals have been scheduled for 3.00 p.m on Sunday.

In the Junior section, the third place was taken by Hockey Lovers Sports Club who scored a 4-3 tie-breaker win over Poona Hockey Academy. Pratham Anjeer; Ifaz Shaikh; Nihal Goratkar; Ifaz Shaik scored for the winners, while Affan Mulla; Harjeet Singh, Atif Sayyed netted for the losers.

On Saturday, in the women’s section, PCMC Academy Balewadi and Mumbai Repubicans drew 1-1, while Krida Prabodhini Baleawadi hammered St. Joseph’s G.S 12-1.
