Pune, 5th November 2025: The Pune Family Court has directed a woman to return to her marital home along with her three-year-old son within two months, providing relief to her husband who had sought her return after a prolonged family dispute.

According to details from the case, the couple — Raju and Rekha (names changed) — were married in 2021 and had a son within a year of their marriage. However, marital differences soon emerged, reportedly due to Rekha’s deteriorating health and increasing irritability. Following frequent disagreements, Rekha left her matrimonial home and began living with her parents when their son was one year old.

Initially, Raju stayed at his in-laws’ house for a few days in an attempt to reconcile, but later returned home for work. Subsequently, Rekha filed a complaint under the Domestic Violence Act and continued living separately at her mother’s home.

Despite repeated efforts by Raju to convince Rekha to return — including several visits and phone calls — reconciliation did not take place. Left with no option, Raju approached the Family Court through his lawyer, Adv. D. D. Dhaval, seeking a legal directive for his wife to resume cohabitation.

During the hearing, Rekha did not appear before the court despite being duly notified. After reviewing the case and considering the husband’s consistent efforts to restore the relationship, Judge Shubhangi Yadav ruled in his favour. The court ordered that the wife must return to her matrimonial home along with her son within two months from the date of the order.

“The husband had made multiple genuine attempts to bring his wife back home. The court recognised his efforts and approved his plea. The couple has a three-year-old son, and it is in the best interest of the child that both parents live together. The verdict has brought much-needed relief to the husband after two years of separation,” said Adv. D. D. Dhaval, the husband’s counsel.
