Pune, 8th November 2025: The investigation into the government land fraud involving prime property in Bopodi has been transferred to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Pune City Police. The case pertains to the illegal transfer of agricultural department land to private individuals, including a company belonging to Parth Pawar, son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, through forged documents.

According to officials, the main accused, Sheetal Kisanchand Tejwani, who sold the land claiming to be a power of attorney holder, has reportedly fled abroad. However, senior police officials have not yet confirmed her departure. Tejwani faces charges in both the Bopodi and Mundhwa land fraud cases and remains absconding despite ongoing police efforts to trace her whereabouts.

The complaint in this case was filed by Naib Tehsildar Praveena Borde on behalf of the Maharashtra government. Based on her complaint, a case has been registered against Tehsildar Suryakant Yewale, Hemant Gawande, Rajendra Ramchandra Vidhvans, Hrishikesh Madhav Vidhvans, Mangal Madhav Vidhvans, Vidyanand Avinash Puranik, Jayashree Sanjay Ekbote, Sheetal Kisanchand Tejwani, and Digvijay Amarsinh Patil, director of Amadea Enterprises LLP.

As per the complaint, Tehsildar Yewale allegedly abused his official powers between February 12, 2024, and July 1, 2025, by illegally showing government-owned land — measuring five hectares and 35 R in Bopodi village — as privately owned. Though the land has been under the possession of the Agriculture Department since 1883, Yewale is accused of preparing forged documents.

Police said they have sought additional records and ownership documents from the concerned government departments. Senior officials stated that further legal action would follow after verification of these documents.

Meanwhile, teams from the Economic Offences Wing are coordinating with other agencies to trace the absconding accused and examine financial trails connected to the fraudulent land transactions.
