Pune: Who Are Digvijay Patil and Sheetal Tejwani? Inside the Mundhwa Land Deal Controversy
Koregaon Park, 8th November 2025: The controversy surrounding the Mundhwa land transaction involving Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar’s company has deepened after an FIR was registered against Digvijay Amarsinh Patil, Parth’s business partner in Amadea Enterprises LLP. The case was registered at Bavdhan Police Station following a complaint lodged by Sub-District Registrar Santosh Ashok Hingane.
Another accused in the case is Sheetal Tejwani, who held the power of attorney for Mahar Watan land in Mundhwa’s survey number 88 near the end of Koregaon Park’s North Main Road and is alleged to have facilitated the registration of the disputed land transaction.
FIR Names Digvijay Patil and Sheetal Tejwani
According to officials, the complaint was filed over irregularities in the registration and transfer of government-owned Mahar Watan land in Mundhwa, Pune. The land, measuring approximately 40 acres, was transferred to Amadea Enterprises LLP under circumstances now being probed by the Registration and Stamp Duty Department and Revenue authorities.
The FIR names Digvijay Amarsinh Patil, who signed the purchase deed on behalf of Amadea Enterprises LLP, and Sheetal Tejwani, who executed the transaction using a power of attorney from the original landowners.
Opposition Questions Parth Pawar’s Exclusion
The opposition has strongly criticized the government over Parth Pawar’s exclusion from the FIR, even though he holds a 99 percent stake in the company involved.
When questioned by reporters, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar responded, “Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has informed that cases have been filed only against those who actually appeared for registration and signed the land transaction documents.”
Despite his one percent stake, Digvijay Patil’s name being included in the FIR has generated political discussion. His close family connection to Ajit Pawar’s family has added another layer of scrutiny.
Who Is Digvijay Patil?
Digvijay Amarsinh Patil, aged 25, is the nephew of MP Sunetra Pawar, wife of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. His late father, Amarsinh Patil, was Sunetra Pawar’s brother and served as the sarpanch of Ter village in Dharashiv district. Amarsinh was also a half-brother of former state Home Minister Padmasinh Patil.
According to records from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Digvijay and Parth are partners in three Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) — Maharashtra Redevelopment Construction LLP, Amadea Enterprises LLP, and Amadea Holdings LLP — all registered at the same Shivajinagar address in Pune. Digvijay also holds a directorship in DVJ Infracon Private Limited.
People close to the family describe Digvijay as a “quiet and private” individual who largely stays away from public life and politics. Sources from Ter village said Amarsinh owned 200–300 acres of land and maintained limited political involvement.
Who Is Sheetal Tejwani?
This is not Sheetal Tejwani’s first run-in with the law. In 2018, she and her husband Sagar Suryavanshi were booked in connection with the Seva Vikas Bank loan scam, following which several of their properties were seized by Seva Vikas Sahakari Bank in 2020.
In the current Mundhwa land case, Tejwani allegedly acted on behalf of the Mahar Watan landowners through a power of attorney, facilitating the transfer of land to Amadea Enterprises LLP. Investigators are probing whether the transaction violated land ownership and stamp duty norms.
Background of the Case
The Mundhwa land transaction, which has sparked major political controversy in Maharashtra, involves a 40-acre plot belonging to the Government of Maharashtra. The land was leased to the Central Government’s Botanical Survey of India, which wanted to set up a botanical garden there.
The Registration and Stamp Duty Department has already issued notices to the company for evading stamp duty and has estimated dues of around Rs 42 crore to regularize the transaction.
Earlier this week, the government suspended Joint Sub Registrar Ravindra Taru and initiated a departmental inquiry, while Pune City Tehsildar Suryakant Yewle was also booked for alleged involvement in facilitating the land handover.
Political Fallout
The case has put the ruling alliance in a sensitive position, with the opposition alleging favouritism and selective accountability. With Parth Pawar’s name missing from the FIR despite his majority stake, opposition leaders have accused the administration of shielding influential individuals.
The investigation into the Mundhwa land deal is expected to widen, with both the Revenue Department and Registration and Stamp Duty authorities examining the chain of approvals, signatures, and financial transactions related to the sale.
