Amphibious Landing Drill Marks High-Intensity Finale of Exercise Trishul
Pune/Porbandar, Friday, 14 Nov 2025: The Indian Armed Forces showcased a powerful display of joint combat readiness as Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, reviewed the concluding phase of Exercise Trishul at Madhavpur Beach on the Saurashtra Coast near Porbandar in Gujarat. The finale featured full-scale Amphibious Landing Operations integrating land, air and maritime components.
Conducted across the Western Seaboard, the Desert Sector, and the Rann & Creek belt, Exercise Trishul brought together large-scale, multi-domain manoeuvres, reflecting strong Tri-Services coordination and a mission-focused approach to modern warfare.
Lt Gen Seth embarked on INS Jalashwa to assess the operational readiness of the Amphibious Forces of the Bison Division under the Sudarshan Chakra Corps. He was accompanied by Vice Adm Krishna Swaminathan, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, and Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Air Command.

During the beaching phase, the Army Commander oversaw the launch of the first Infantry Platoon with a tank using a Landing Craft Mechanised (LCM), signalling the start of high-tempo landing waves. The synchronised operations highlighted the ability of ground forces, naval platforms and air assets to project combat power from sea to shore under realistic battlefield conditions.
The drills featured integrated employment of Infantry and Mechanised elements, combined with the innovative use of drones, showcasing the fusion of technology with frontline combat operations.

Lt Gen Seth praised the professionalism, interoperability and jointmanship displayed by soldiers, sailors and air warriors throughout the exercise.
The successful execution of Exercise Trishul reinforces India’s preparedness for multi-domain operations, strengthens joint combat capability and reflects the Armed Forces’ commitment to advancing indigenous defence initiatives under Atmanirbhar Bharat.
