Two Pune Police Officers Fired Over Mishandling of Porsche Crash Involving Drunk Minor

Yerwada, 10th December 2025: Two police officers earlier suspended in the high-profile Porsche crash case have now been dismissed from service following a departmental probe ordered by Maharashtra Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla.
The action comes after investigators flagged serious lapses in handling the initial stages of the case, which involved a drunk minor behind the wheel of a luxury car.
The officers dismissed are the then Police Inspector Rahul Jagdale and Assistant Police Inspector Vishwanath Todkari. Both were found responsible for failing to promptly alert the police control room and delaying the collection of crucial blood samples after the fatal crash in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar on May 19, 2024.
In the accident, two IT professionals — Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta — lost their lives when a speeding Porsche driven by the minor boy rammed their two-wheeler. The case sparked nationwide outrage over alleged attempts to dilute evidence and mishandling by key officials.
Alongside the dismissals, the DGP has ordered withholding of basic pay increments for five years for Police Officers Ananda Bhosale and Amit Shinde. All four officers have the right to appeal the decision before the State Home Department within 60 days of receiving the order.
The Pune Police had earlier recommended the dismissal of Jagdale and Todkari after their suspension for negligence. Following the departmental inquiry, the DGP upheld the proposal and issued final orders.
Meanwhile, ten individuals — including the minor’s parents and a Sassoon Hospital doctor accused of manipulating medical samples — continue to remain in judicial custody after courts rejected their bail applications.
