Pune, 15th December 2025: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has once again deferred the draw for 4,186 housing units under the Pune Board, prolonging uncertainty for more than 2.15 lakh applicants. Officials confirmed that the lottery, earlier proposed for December 16 or 17, has been cancelled due to unresolved technical issues, with a revised date yet to be announced.

A senior MHADA official said the postponement was necessitated by delays in completing key pre-lottery processes, including scrutiny of a large number of applications and preparation of the draft eligibility list. “Given the scale of applications received, additional time is required to complete mandatory procedures before the draw can be conducted,” the official said.

The housing scheme, unveiled in September, offers 3,222 homes under the 20 per cent Comprehensive Housing Scheme and 864 homes under the 15 per cent Integrated Housing Scheme. The application process opened on September 11, drawing an overwhelming response from aspiring homebuyers.

MHADA received 2,15,847 applications, along with earnest money deposits totalling ₹446.97 crore. Owing to earlier technical glitches in the computerised system, the pre-lottery process had already been extended twice, pushing the original draw date from November 21 to December 11, before being deferred yet again.

Officials said scrutiny of applications has now been completed, but further steps — including publication of the draft list of eligible applicants, inviting objections, conducting hearings, and finalising the list — are still pending. As a result, the proposed December 16–17 schedule could not be adhered to.

The draft list of eligible applicants is scheduled to be uploaded on MHADA’s official website at 6 pm on Monday, after which the final list will be prepared following the objection process.

MHADA authorities acknowledged that no firm date has been fixed for the lottery draw so far, adding that an official announcement on the revised schedule will be made in due course.
