Aundh, 24th December 2025: A high-intensity Military–Civil Fusion (MCF) exercise was conducted at the Military–Civil Fusion Training Node in Pune to test and validate inter-agency preparedness under a simulated multi-threat security scenario. The drill aimed to rehearse coordinated responses to complex and evolving contingencies, reinforcing joint readiness among military and civil authorities.

Troops of the Southern Command worked in close coordination with Force One of the Maharashtra Police, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), local police units, Fire Services, Bomb Disposal Unit, Disaster Management Authority, Health and Forensic Departments, and the Army Dog Unit. The exercise focused on enhancing interoperability, rapid decision-making, and seamless coordination across agencies during high-pressure situations.

The simulation involved realistic crisis scenarios designed to test command and control systems, communication networks, and inter-agency coordination at multiple levels. Participating teams reviewed and refined their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), while also identifying operational gaps and synergies to improve response efficiency.

Officials said such Military–Civil Fusion exercises are critical to strengthening a whole-of-government approach to security. The drill reaffirmed the commitment of all stakeholders towards public safety, collective resilience, and an integrated national response framework capable of handling emergencies ranging from terror threats to disaster situations.
