Koregaon Park, 28th December 2025: Police have taken action against QORA- Cocktail Bar & Kitchen in Koregaon Park’s Lane No. 5 for allegedly causing public nuisance by playing loud music without permission. The action was taken for violations of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and Rule 5 of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, officials said.

According to the police, they received information on Saturday about loud music being played at a public place. A police team rushed to the spot and, during inspection, found that a high-decibel sound system was being used without any valid permission, resulting in noise and environmental pollution in the area.

Based on the findings, police registered action against hotel manager Drona Mohan Tekchandani (34) and hotel owner Aman Prem Talreja (34), both residents of Koregaon Park.

To immediately curb the noise pollution, police seized musical instruments and sound equipment worth approximately Rs 3.40 lakh in the presence of panch witnesses. Further legal action has been initiated against the accused under the relevant provisions of law.

The incident once again highlights ongoing concerns over noise pollution in Pune’s Koregaon Park area, especially during weekends, and the police have appealed to hotels, pubs, and restaurants to strictly adhere to noise control norms.
