Pune, 12th January 2026: In the ongoing Pune Municipal Corporation election campaign, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ganesh Bidkar, along with his panel members, unveiled his development manifesto for Ward 24, covering the Kasba Ganpati and Kamla Nehru Hospital areas. The manifesto focuses on resolving key local issues, including traffic management, healthcare facilities, water supply, public safety, and preservation of heritage sites.

Speaking about the manifesto, Bidkar said the goal is to achieve tangible development not only through city-level projects but also at the ward level. A key highlight of the manifesto is the launch of a ‘Constitution Honour Study Room,’ aimed at providing better study facilities for students. Strengthening healthcare services at Kamla Nehru Hospital is also a priority.

Addressing traffic concerns, Bidkar stated that metro expansion will enable smoother citywide commuting for residents. He also pledged to restore the full capacity of the electric bus service and the Pune Darshan tourist service. Measures to address waterlogging during the monsoon include constructing retaining walls along drains, improving culverts, and implementing preventive measures.

Since Ward 24 is part of the old city, road widening has limitations. To tackle congestion and parking issues, special traffic management arrangements will be made, Bidkar added. Public safety will be enhanced through increased CCTV surveillance and patrolling, while preservation and maintenance of heritage sites will be prioritized.

Bidkar emphasized, “Upholding our promises and resolving citizens’ concerns is part of our duty. Projects such as the metro, riverfront development, and 24-hour water supply will directly benefit residents of Ward 24.”

Central Minister for Social Justice, Ramdas Athawale, expressed his appreciation for the ‘Constitution Honour Study Room’ initiative announced in the manifesto. He also urged voters in Bhimnagar and Mangalwar Peth to support all four candidates of the Mahayuti alliance, highlighting their commitment to fulfilling Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s vision, promoting Pune’s development, and ensuring justice for the common citizen.
