Aundh, 27th January 2026: Cyber fraudsters cheated a young woman doctor of ₹2.09 lakh by posing as bank representatives and claiming they needed to update her credit card details. Police have registered a case against unidentified cyber criminals following a complaint filed at Baner Police Station.

According to the police, the complainant lives in the Aundh area and works at a private hospital in the same locality. She received a call on her mobile phone from people pretending to be officials of a Mumbai-based private bank. They told her that a credit card update process was underway and required her cooperation.

The fraudsters then sent her a link and asked her to enter confidential banking information. Using the details she provided, they transferred ₹2.09 lakh from her account into theirs.

After realising she had been cheated, the doctor approached the police and lodged a formal complaint. Crime Branch Police Inspector Alka Sarg is investigating the case.
