GM Central Railway Launches MCC App to Digitise Coach and Premise Cleaning in Pune Division
Reported by Amit Singh
Pune, 7th February 2026: General Manager of Central Railway, Prateek Goswami, on Saturday inaugurated the MCC (Mechanized Coach & Premise Cleaning) App, a digital platform developed for Pune Division to monitor and report cleaning activities across railway coaches and premises. The launch took place during his comprehensive safety inspection of the Daund–Lonavala railway section.
The MCC App has been introduced to enable real-time monitoring, verification, and reporting of mechanized coach and premise cleaning work. The platform replaces manual registers and paper-based processes with digital workflows, automated scorecards, dashboards, and audit-ready reports, aligned with the objectives of Swachh Bharat Mission and Swachh Railways.
According to officials, Pune Division had been facing challenges such as lack of real-time verification of contractor work, inconsistent manual records, disputes during audits, and difficulty in establishing cleaning quality during inspections. The new system captures time-stamped field data directly from supervisors and maintains complete digital audit trails.
The application supports role-based access for railway officials and contractors, with defined permissions at depot, division, and contract levels. Digital manpower forms, automated submission and approval workflows, and system-generated scorecards form the core of the platform. Performance data is presented through dashboards showing train-wise, contract-wise, and division-level cleanliness metrics.
The MCC App also generates MIS and PDF reports for inspections, audits, and vigilance requirements. Performance indicators such as housekeeping efficiency, pit line effectiveness, disposal compliance, and coach-wise cleanliness scores are available through the system.
The inauguration took place during the General Manager’s safety inspection tour of the Daund–Lonavala section, which was attended by principal heads of departments from Central Railway headquarters and senior officers.
