Pune: Lohgaon Police Nab Bike Thief, Seize Stolen Motorcycle
Pune, 9th February 2026: The Lohgaon Police have arrested a two-wheeler thief and recovered the stolen motorcycle in connection with a theft case registered earlier this month.
According to officials, a case (Crime Register No. 71/2026) was registered on February 6, 2026, under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita after an unknown person allegedly stole a two-wheeler from the parking area of a residential premises in the Lohgaon area.
During the investigation, Police Constable Jyotiram Devkate reviewed CCTV footage from the crime scene and nearby locations. The visuals showed a suspicious individual fleeing with the stolen motorcycle. Based on technical analysis and inputs from confidential informants, the suspect was identified as Aman Sheshrao Kamble, a resident of Pathare Vasti, Lohgaon.
Acting on a tip-off that the accused was moving around the Santnagar area with the stolen vehicle, a police team laid a trap and arrested him. The stolen motorcycle was recovered from his possession.
The operation was carried out by Police Constables Jyotiram Devkate, Balasaheb Shirsath, and Hariprasad Punde.
The action was taken under the supervision of Additional Commissioner of Police (East Region) Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 07) Somay Munde, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Lonikand Division) Nutan Pawar, and Senior Police Inspector Manisha Patil of Lohgaon Police Station.
The team included PSI Manoj Barure, police personnel Ganesh Ithape, Jyotiram Devkate, Dadasaheb Barde, Dnyandev Aware, Hariprasad Punde and Balasaheb Shirsath.
