Hockey: St. Joseph, Pashan eves record huge win; Anvi scores six
Pune, 17th February 2026: St. Joseph, Pashan eves recorded a huge win and drew their other encounter, while Lokmanya Tilak H.S logged a victory in their encounter of the Fr. Schoch Memorial 2026 Inter School Hockey tournament, powered by Bharat Forge Kalyani Group, at the Major Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri, here on Tuesday.
The tournament is being held under the aegis of Hockey Maharashtra and organized by ELAN (Ex Loyola Alumni Network) along with Loyola High School for the sixth year in succession.
St. Joseph’s, Pashan made merry to become the first team to record a double digit-win after they got past Col. Bhagat H.S 11-0 in the Girls Under-17 section.
The highlight for St. Joseph, Pashan was a brilliant performance by Anvi Rawat who netted six goals. Anvi’s six-goals included two (13’, 17’) from penalty-corners and four from field goals (36’, 44’, 54’, 59’). Keya Thakare scored three-goals off the field (28’, 43’, 57’), while Gaelyn Nesamani scored two-goals (29’, 56’) from penalty corners.
In another encounter, St. Joseph, Pashan and Lokmanya Tilak H.S played out a 1-1 draw. Lokmanya Tilak had Vaishnavi Parit (27’) score and take the lead, while St. Joseph, Pashan had Anvi Rawat (28’) equalise a minute later and her team share points.
In the first match of the day, Lokmanya Tilak H.S scored a 6-0 verdict over Col. Bhagat. The win included a hat-trick by Sajani Nepali (11′, 33′, 48′), while Mrunali Bagade (44′), Vaishnavi Panit (58′) and Anjali Zombade (59′) scored one each to complete the scoreline.
The day had four matches turn out to be non-starters from the seven scheduled for the day.
