Nashik Kumbh: Ring Road Civil Works Worth Rs 3,954 Crore Sanctioned; Multiple Infra Projects Approved
Nashik, 10th March 2026: In a landmark decision ahead of Simhastha 2027, administrative approval of Rs 3,954 crore has been granted for the civil construction of the 69.15-km Nashik Ring Road. The approval was accorded during a review meeting of the Nashik–Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) chaired by Nashik Divisional Commissioner Dr Pravin Gedam on Tuesday. The land acquisition administrative approval for the ring road project had already been granted earlier.
The Nashik Ring Road will span 69.15 km beginning from DRDO Junction (NH-60), encircling the city and reconnecting to the same corridor. The proposed 4/6-lane corridor includes five major bridges, two railway overbridges, eight vehicular underpasses, and service roads. The project integrates with four National Highways and four State Highways and is expected to substantially reduce congestion within Nashik city while ensuring seamless regional mobility during Simhastha and beyond.
Along with the Ring Road, multiple pilgrimage, connectivity, and mobility projects amounting to over Rs 170 cr were also sanctioned, significantly accelerating infrastructure preparedness for the mega religious congregation.
Administrative approval of Rs 7.09 crore was granted for construction of flag masts at Ramkund in Nashik and Kushavart Tirth in Trimbakeshwar.
Development works in the Trimbakeshwar region, including the small and large Pradakshina routes in Brahmagiri and eco-tourism development at Anjaneri, received administrative approval of Rs 23.12 crore.
Construction of a 300-metre ghat on the right bank at the Godavari–Nandini river confluence near Takli was sanctioned at Rs 44.53 crore to strengthen riverfront infrastructure and improve pilgrim access.
Road development from Panchavati area’s Karma Heights to Tapovan STP up to Survey No. 357 and Nandur village received administrative approval of Rs 20.22 crore.
Preparation of an Integrated Mobility Plan for Simhastha 2027 through IIM Nagpur was approved at Rs 10.24 crore to ensure scientific and data-driven traffic planning.
Relocation and strengthening of the Trimbakeshwar sub-district hospital, including lease continuation and necessary improvements, received approval of Rs 1.72 crore.
Development works at Kawnai (Kapildhara Tirth) were sanctioned at Rs 27.47 crore.
Development works at Chakratirth (Chakore–Beje area) received administrative approval of Rs 24.10 crore.
Infrastructure development works at Taked were cleared at Rs 21.91 crore.
NTKMA Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) Commissioner Manisha Khatri and Nashik District Collector Ayush Prasad joined the meeting virtually. Officials from NTKMA, NMC, Nashik Police Department, Trimbakeshwar Municipal Council, Public Works Department, Forest Department, Nashik Zilla Parishad, District Health Department, MSEDCL, RTO and QCI were present at the District Collector’s office.
Chairing the meeting, Nashik Divisional Commissioner Dr Pravin Gedam directed all departments to expedite procedural formalities and adhere to timelines to ensure that infrastructure works are completed well in advance of Simhastha 2027. He emphasized that the Ring Road, in particular, will play a transformative role in long-term traffic decongestion and structured urban mobility planning for Nashik.
