Railway News: Pune Division Marks Women’s Day with Health, Finance and Yoga Sessions
Pune, 10th March 2026: The Central Railway’s Pune Division of Central Railway observed International Women’s Day 2026 at the Divisional Railway Manager’s office in Pune on Monday, organising a series of awareness sessions and cultural activities for women employees in line with directives issued by the Railway Board.
The programme included lectures and interactive sessions focusing on health, financial literacy, empowerment and wellness.
Dietician Urvi Oza delivered a talk on “Health and Nutrition Awareness,” highlighting the role of balanced nutrition, preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle practices for women. A session on financial awareness and management was conducted by finance manager Smita Sovani, who spoke about financial planning, savings and responsible investment practices.
Public speaker and social activist Preeti Sakhre addressed the gathering on women’s empowerment, encouraging participants to recognise their strengths and expand their roles in social and professional spheres.
A wellness session titled “Creating a Conscious Woman through Yoga” was conducted by yoga teacher Abhishek Todkar Mali, focusing on mindfulness, mental well-being and physical fitness.
The programme also featured a cultural presentation by the cultural team of Pune Division.
The event was attended by Rajesh Kumar Verma, divisional railway manager of Pune Division; Swati Verma, president of the Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (CRWWO); P. U. Jadhav, additional divisional railway manager; and Jitendra P. Singh, senior divisional personnel officer. Women employees from various departments of the division participated in the programme.
