Summer Special Trains Announced from Pune to Gorakhpur, Danapur Ghazipur and Nagpur
Pune, 12th March 2026: Central Railway has scheduled several special train services from Pune to various destinations including Gorakhpur, Danapur, Ghazipur City, and Nagpur to manage the projected increase in passenger traffic during the 2026 summer season. These services, operating under the Train on Demand (TOD) and Summer Special categories, will commence in April.
Daily Services to Gorakhpur and Danapur
A daily special service between Pune and Gorakhpur (Train No. 01415) is scheduled to depart Pune at 06:50 hrs, arriving at Gorakhpur at 16:00 hrs the following day. This service will run from April 1 to April 30, 2026. The train will make stops at Daund Chord Line, Ahmednagar, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Rani Kamalapati, Bina, VGL Jhansi, Orai, Kanpur Central, Lucknow, Barabanki, Gonda, and Basti.
Similarly, a daily service to Danapur (Train No. 01449) will depart Pune at 15:30 hrs and reach its destination at 02:45 hrs on the second day. Following an initial 14-trip run starting April 1, the service will continue as a summer special from April 15 through July 15, 2026. Major halts include Manmad, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Prayagraj Chheoki, and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction.
Bi-Weekly and Weekly Connectivity
A bi-weekly special service to Ghazipur City (Train No. 01431) will operate on Fridays and Tuesdays, departing Pune at 06:40 hrs. This service is scheduled to run between April 17 and April 28, 2026, with halts at Daund Chord Line, Ahmednagar, Manmad, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, and Prayagraj Chheoki.
For Nagpur, two weekly special services have been introduced:
Train No. 01469 will depart Pune every Tuesday at 15:50 hrs from April 21 to July 14, 2026.
Train No. 01457 will depart Pune every Wednesday at 15:50 hrs from April 15 to July 15, 2026.
Both Nagpur-bound services will follow a route through Uruli, Daund Chord Line, Ahmednagar, Belapur, Kopargaon, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Malkapur, Shegaon, Akola, Badnera, Dhamangaon, and Wardha.
Technical Details and Composition
The special trains will consist of various coach configurations, primarily including AC 2-Tier (ACCW), AC 3-Tier (ACCN), Sleeper Class (GSCN), and General Second Class (GS). The Pune-Gorakhpur and Pune-Danapur daily specials are designated with 18-coach ICF rakes, while the weekly services to Nagpur and bi-weekly services to Ghazipur City will utilize 18 to 20-coach rakes.
