Pune University Yet to Declare Many Winter Exam Results, Students Struggle to Fill Forms
Pune, 20th March 2026: The examination department of Savitribai Phule Pune University appears to be in disarray, with thousands of students bearing the brunt of administrative delays. Even two months after the conclusion of the winter session examinations, results for several courses are yet to be declared, triggering widespread frustration among students and parents.
The situation has escalated further after the university announced the schedule for upcoming summer examinations despite the pending results. Students and colleges have raised serious concerns, questioning how candidates are expected to fill examination forms without knowing their previous results.
The examination department, which oversees hundreds of colleges across Pune, Ahilyanagar and Nashik districts, is facing growing criticism over its slow functioning. Although results for postgraduate courses such as MA, MCom and MSc were declared over a month ago, many students say their results are still not visible on the official website.
The delay has also affected students’ ability to apply for revaluation or rechecking, as their results are not accessible online. In addition, results for several undergraduate courses, including first- and second-year BA, BCom and second-year BSc, are still awaited.
While results for BCom and BA under the 2019 pattern have been released, those under the National Education Policy (NEP) framework remain pending even three months after the examinations. The lack of clarity has added to the confusion among students and college authorities alike.
College examination officers say they are facing daily backlash from students and parents. “When we try to contact the university, officials do not respond to calls. Even in-person visits yield no results, as staff fail to address our concerns,” an officer said, expressing frustration.
The university has attributed the delay to “technical issues” but has not provided a clear timeline for resolving the problem. Moreover, ambiguity persists regarding the process of submitting internal marks for some courses.
Repeated attempts to seek clarification from the examination department have gone unanswered, leaving the reasons behind the delay unclear and students stranded in uncertainty.
