Hindi Andolan Parivar’s Annual Award Ceremony Concludes Successfully
Pune, 21st March 2026: The Hindi Andolan Parivar celebrated its annual award ceremony on Saturday, coinciding with World Poetry Day. The event also marked the organization’s 314th literary gathering and featured a special Holi celebration, continuing the three-decade tradition of playing Holi with flowers.
Dr. Ashwini Kumar, former Doordarshan program officer, was honored with the ‘Hindi Bhushan’ award for his exceptional contributions to language and music. Smt. Amita Shah received the ‘Hindi Shri’ award for her dedicated social service, while Dr. Pushpa Gujarathi was recognized for her notable work in literature.
Presiding over the program, senior educationist and folk literature expert Prof. Mahendra Thakurdas remarked, “The world itself was created through poetry. The day the first poem was born, the world came into being. Humans use literature and art to perceive and express their inner self. When swords break, literature guards the borders.”
Dr. Ashwini Kumar reflected on his long association with the organization, saying, “I have never evaluated my past work, but I always strive to give my best. Whoever joins this family never leaves it.”
Smt. Amita Shah highlighted her motivation for social work, stating, “The desire to do something positive for society drew me to social service. What you give to nature, you receive back—society’s respect is a prime example of this action-reaction.”
Dr. Pushpa Gujarathi shared a personal account of inspiration, adding, “During my battle with cancer, the Bhardwaj duo supported me like Sanjivani, inspiring creativity. It felt as if a pen was placed in my hand amid self-destruction to praise the sun.”
In his opening remarks, Hindi Andolan Parivar President Sanjay Bhardwaj outlined the organization’s journey, highlighting honors previously bestowed upon luminaries such as MP Dr. Medha Kulkarni, Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Dr. Vishwanath Karad, and Dr. Damodar Khadse.
