Pimpri Chinchwad, 27th March 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has collected Rs 97.35 lakh as slum service tax during the 2025-26 financial year so far, officials said on Friday.
According to the civic body, a total of Rs 97,35,660 was recovered between April 17, 2025 and March 27, 2026 by the slum eradication and rehabilitation department. With the financial year ending on March 31, the department has decided to keep its offices open even on weekly offs and public holidays to facilitate tax payments.
Officials said the move aims to ensure convenience for citizens and avoid last-minute rush. Slum residents have been urged to take advantage of the extended facility and clear their dues at the earliest.
Deputy commissioner Anna Bodade said special planning has been undertaken to meet the revenue targets before the end of the financial year. Citizens can pay the tax online from home by scanning the QR code printed on their bills and completing the transaction through UPI, credit/debit cards, net banking or digital wallets.
Landge termed the collection of over Rs 95 lakh as a positive development and said the decision to keep offices open on holidays was taken to make the process more citizen-friendly. He appealed to residents to pay their dues on time and contribute to the city’s development.
Commissioner Suryawanshi said emphasis has been laid on ensuring transparency and ease in tax collection, adding that citizens should avoid last-minute crowding and use the available facilities to make timely payments.
