Pune, 28th March 2026: The city and district recorded the season’s highest temperatures on Friday, with the mercury crossing the 40°C mark in some areas. Lohgaon reported the highest temperature at 40.4°C, followed by Purandar at 40.1°C.

According to weather observations, maximum temperatures have risen by around 1 to 1.5 degrees Celsius over the last 24 hours across the city and district. Areas including Shivajinagar, Pashan, Talegaon, Koregaon Park and Magarpatta also recorded temperatures above 38°C.

The day began with dry weather, but by noon, intense heat made conditions uncomfortable for residents, with many experiencing scorching temperatures. Rising heat and humidity made the afternoon particularly difficult.

However, a change in weather was observed later in the afternoon as cloud cover developed. Some parts of the district also received light rainfall accompanied by gusty winds, offering brief relief from the heat.
Despite the temporary respite, warm conditions persisted into the night.

Weather officials indicated that the city and district are likely to experience clear to partly cloudy skies over the next two days. Light rainfall is also expected in isolated areas on one or two days in the coming week.

Other recorded temperatures included Baramati (37.9°C), Wadgaonsheri (37.8°C), Chinchwad-Haveli (37.4°C), NDA (36.7°C) and Shirur (35.6°C).
