Pune Family Court Supports Wife’s Studies, Orders Husband to Pay Rs 30,000 Monthly
Pune, 31st March 2026: A family court has directed a husband to pay ₹30,000 per month as maintenance to his wife, who is currently preparing for competitive examinations and has no independent source of income.
The order was passed by Family Court Judge R. N. Khan after hearing a petition filed by the wife, who cited financial hardship following separation due to marital disputes and differences.
In her plea, the woman stated that she is fully engaged in preparing for competitive examinations and is therefore unable to earn. She highlighted the difficulties she faces in meeting her daily expenses, including accommodation, study materials, examination fees, and other basic needs. She also submitted that she had not been receiving adequate financial support from her husband.
The petition was filed through advocates Sonali Aru-Navaskar, Prachi Jamdade-Kolhe, Ajay Mohel, and Dipali Adsul.
After examining the arguments and documents submitted by both sides, the court considered the husband’s income as well as the wife’s educational and financial requirements. The court observed that the maintenance amount was necessary to support her studies and ensure her basic living expenses.
The court directed that the order be implemented immediately.
