32 teams for 1st Edition of Deccan Elite Cup Basketball Tournament 2026

Pune, April 6, 2026: A total 32 teams of under 16 boys and girls group will be seen in action at the first edition of Deccan Elite Cup Basketball Tournament 2026 organized by Deccan Gymkhana and will be played at Basketball court, Deccan Gymkhana from 7th to 12th April 2026.

Mr. Girish Inamdar, Finance Secretary of Deccan Gymkhana and Mr. Chandrashekar Apte, Basketball Secretary of Deccan Gymkhana said that, “We are delighted to host the first edition of the Deccan Elite Cup, which brings together some of the most promising young basketball talent from across the region. This tournament aims to provide a competitive platform for budding players and contribute to the growth of grassroots basketball,” The event has been proudly sponsored by Yadnya Construction, Atharva Real Estate Consultancy, Sharangdhar Kulkarni supported by Safemax, Scon, Amol Enterprises, Woodlands, Gokhale Foods and Pocari Sweat.

The tournament will feature 32 teams, including 16 boys’ teams and 16 girls’ teams. The tournament will be conducted on a league-cum-knockout basis. The teams in the Boys group which included Host Deccan Gymkhana, Rahul Singh Basketball Academy, Nahata, Vidyanchal, SG Academy, Mastan, Vidya Valley, SSBA, Beed, ABC, CBC, Ground UP, St Marys, NB Hoops Satara, MSD Basketball Academy, Ranjit Gujar Basketball Academy Satara, while in the girls group included Deccan Gymkhana A, City Pride School Nigdi, SG Academy, Vidya Valley, Maharashtra Mandal, ABC, Dastur, Chonde Patil, St Marys, Sai Sports Academy, MSD Basketball Academy, Deccan Gymkhana B, Sharp Shooters, Vidyanchal, Falcons and Sportjee.

The event will offer a total prize money of Rs.1,50,000/-. The winner team will receive a trophy and Rs. 40,000/-, while runner up will get trophy and Rs.20,000/- and 3rd Place winner will get trophy and Rs. 10,000/-. Apart from that, player of the tournament will get attractive prizes. The tournament will be inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Govind Krishnan, Hon General Secretary of Maharashtra State Basketball Association.
