Dastur Crowned Champions At Deccan Elite Cup Basketball Tournament 2026

Pune, 14th April 2026: Dastur emerged winner in girls category at the 1st Edition of Deccan Elite Cup Basketball Tournament 2026, organized by Deccan Gymkhana and played at the Basketball Court of Deccan Gymkhana, Pune.
In the final, Dastur edged past Maharashtra Mandal in a nail-biting contest, winning 56-55. Rudrani Halighongde led the scoring with 23 points, while Binat Kaur contributed 17 points. Anushka Shelke scored 17 points for Maharashtra Mandal. Dastur dominated early, taking a 16-04 lead at half-time.

In the third-place match, Vidyanchal defeated St Mary’s 42-27. Lillian Jacob top-scored with 22 points, supported by Lakshmi Joshi with 16 points. Meher Sawhney managed 5 points for St Mary’s. Vidyanchal held a narrow 10-09 lead at half-time.

The winner team Dastur got trophy and Rs. 40,000/-, while runner up Maharashtra Mandal received trophy and Rs. 20,000/- and 3rd place winner Vidyanchal got trophy and Rs.10,000/-. Apart from that, the most valuable player Rudrani Halighongde got trophy and Rs.5000/. The prizes were given away at the hands of Mr. Appasaheb Veer from Safemax and Mr. Manoj Patil from SCON
