Pune: Manchar Teacher On Way for Census Duty Killed in Road Accident Near Kanhe Phata

Pune, 27th May 2026: A tragic road accident near Kanhe Phata claimed the life of a school teacher who was on her way to attend government census duty, sending shockwaves through the education sector and her hometown of Manchar in Pune district.

The deceased has been identified as Dipali Sujit Tambe, a resident of Manchar, who worked as a teacher and was also engaged in administrative responsibilities alongside her teaching duties.

According to officials, Tambe was travelling for official census-related work when a speeding and reportedly out-of-control container truck collided with her vehicle near Kanhe Phata. The impact of the crash was severe, leaving the vehicle mangled and killing her on the spot.

Locals rushed to the scene after the accident, but Tambe had already succumbed to her injuries.

The news of her sudden death triggered widespread grief in Manchar and among members of the education fraternity, with many expressing shock over the loss of a dedicated teacher who died while on official duty.

Police reached the spot soon after being informed, sent the body for post-mortem, and initiated proceedings against the container driver. Further investigation is underway.
