Pune: Second win for PBCA, Poona Club in PYC-Goldfieldd Late Raju Bhalekar Trophy
Pune, 28th May 2026: Puneet Balan Cricket Academy, Poona Club registered second win on trot in their league round match of the fifth edition of the “PYC-Goldfieldd Late Raju Bhalekar Trophy” Invitation Under-19 Cricket Tournament, organised by PYC Hindu Gymkhana and played at PYC, Sinhgad Cricket Ground, Poona Club, Desire Cricket Ground.
At the Sinhgad Cricket Ground, PBCA chased down Ambitious’ challenging total of 252 with ease, reaching 254 for 5 in just 32.3 overs. The chase was anchored by an unbeaten 77 off just 38 balls by Aayush Raktade, who smashed five boundaries and six sixes, while Aneesh Joshi remained unbeaten on 66 off 63 balls with nine fours and a six. Om Bhamre (37), Indrajeet Shinde (26) and Raghav Naik (26) also chipped in. Earlier, Gunjan Sawant top-scored for Ambitious with 71, while Aditya Kapare added 44. PBCA completed a comfortable five-wicket win, with Aayush Raktade being named Player of the Match.
At the Poona Club Ground, Vedant Gore’s explosive 140 powered Poona Club to a competitive 307 for 6 in 45 overs against Trinity. Gore hammered 11 fours and nine sixes in his 96-ball knock, while Mayank Agarwal scored 53 and Shreyas Shivarkar contributed 56. In reply, Trinity fought hard through Prem Ighe’s 81, Aman Singh’s quickfire 63 and Ayush Gupta’s 63, but fell short at 288 all out in 42 overs. Rugved Choudhari starred with the ball for Poona Club claiming 5 for 50, helping his side secure a narrow 19-run victory. Vedant Gore was adjudged Player of the Match.
