Pune, 6th June 2026: A minor boy was apprehended by the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police in Ambegaon Budruk area and found in possession of a country-made pistol and two live cartridges, police said.

The action was taken on Friday after police personnel received a tip-off that a juvenile was waiting with a firearm near Trimurti Gardens near underpass off Katraj Highway in Ambegaon Budruk. Acting on the information, a team led by Police Sub-Inspector Nilesh Mokashi rushed to the spot and detained the suspect.

During the search, police recovered a country-made pistol valued at Rs 50,000 and two live cartridges worth from the boy’s possession. The weapon and ammunition were seized.

A case has been registered at Bharati Vidyapeeth police station under relevant provisions of the Arms Act and the Maharashtra Police Act. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Nilesh Mokashi.
