Pimpri-Chinchwad, 13th June 2026: In a major breakthrough against international cybercrime, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Cyber Police have arrested an alleged mastermind behind a multi-crore cyber fraud syndicate operating from Dubai and Thailand. The accused, identified as Saurabh alias Ganesh Balaso Kale, was apprehended at Bangkok International Airport in Thailand following an Interpol Red Corner Notice (RCN) and a Lookout Circular (LOC) issued against him.

Kale was deported to India and taken into custody by a specialised team of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Cyber Police at Mumbai Airport on 11th June 2026. He has been formally arrested in connection with a cyber fraud case registered at Dehu Road Police Station and is currently under further investigation.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rohidas Pawar said, “The arrest of Saurabh alias Ganesh Kale is a significant achievement in our fight against organised cybercrime. The accused had established an international network that targeted Indian citizens through various online frauds. Despite his attempts to evade arrest by moving between countries, our team pursued the case relentlessly and succeeded in bringing him back to India. Further investigation is underway, and we expect to uncover more details about the syndicate’s operations and financial transactions.”

The investigation began in June 2024 after the arrest of 13 individuals in connection with a large-scale online task scam registered under Crime No. 293/2024 at Dehu Road Police Station. During interrogation, one of the accused, Deepak Gade, revealed that he had travelled to Dubai to meet Kale, who was allegedly operating the cybercrime network from there.

Police investigations revealed that local operatives procured bank accounts, commonly referred to as “mule accounts”, from individuals across India and supplied Kale with account credentials, ATM cards, cheque books, linked mobile numbers and internet banking details. In return, they received substantial commissions. These accounts were allegedly used to receive and route funds obtained through cyber frauds.

A detailed technical investigation led by Assistant Police Inspector Pravin Swami uncovered Kale’s links with foreign cybercrime syndicates, including Chinese nationals. According to investigators, Kale and his associates carried out online task scams, fake share market investment schemes and digital arrest frauds targeting victims across India.

As evidence mounted against him in multiple cybercrime cases, including an ₹18 lakh share market fraud registered at Hinjawadi Police Station and a ₹2.66 crore investment fraud registered with the Cyber Police Station, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police initiated international legal proceedings to secure his arrest and extradition.

Authorities submitted a provisional arrest and extradition proposal through the Government of Maharashtra to the Ministry of Home Affairs. However, while legal proceedings were underway through the Indian Embassy in Dubai, Kale allegedly fled to Bangkok, Thailand, in September 2025.

The Cyber Police continued pursuing the case and successfully obtained both an Interpol Red Corner Notice and a Lookout Circular against him. On 11th June 2026, Thai authorities detained Kale at Bangkok International Airport after he was flagged while attempting to travel to another country.

Following coordination between Indian authorities and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Kale was deported to India. A police team comprising API Pravin Swami, Police Head Constable Hemant Kharat and Police Constable Nitesh Bichewar took custody of him at Mumbai Airport.
Police officials said Kale’s arrest has helped solve several cybercrime cases registered in Maharashtra and Telangana, including cases at the Nodal Cyber Police Station in Mumbai, Malvani Police Station and the Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police Station.
