Pune, 23rd June 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai, has issued an Orange Warning for parts of Maharashtra, including the ghat areas of Pune district, forecasting moderate to intense spells of rain on Tuesday.

According to the nowcast warning issued by IMD Mumbai on June 23, the alert is in effect for Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and the ghat regions of Pune district. Residents have been advised to take necessary precautions in view of the expected weather conditions.

Meanwhile, Pune city has been witnessing cloudy weather since the morning, with overcast skies prevailing across several areas. While the city itself has not experienced intense rainfall so far, the cloud cover and changing weather conditions indicate the possibility of rain during the day.

The monsoon has remained active across Maharashtra, and meteorological officials continue to monitor weather developments closely. Authorities have urged citizens, especially those travelling through ghat sections and low-lying areas, to remain alert and follow weather advisories issued by the administration.

The IMD has advised people in the affected districts to take appropriate precautions as moderate to heavy rain spells may lead to waterlogging, reduced visibility, and traffic disruptions in some areas.
