Pune: Lohgaon 100-Bed Sub-District Hospital to Start OPD Services from July 6
Lohgaon, 27th June 2026: Residents of Lohgaon and nearby areas will soon get access to improved healthcare facilities as the newly constructed 100-bed Sub-District Hospital at Lohgaon in Haveli taluka is set to begin trial operations from July 6, 2026.
The hospital is expected to be formally inaugurated between July 16 and 18, subject to the availability of the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister and Pune District Guardian Minister Sunetra Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, and the Health Minister.
The decision was taken during a review meeting held on June 26 under the chairmanship of MLA Bapusaheb Pathare. The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of Health Services Dr Bhagwan Pawar, District Civil Surgeon Dr Ambadas Devmane, Public Works Department Deputy Engineer Ajay Patil, Electrical Deputy Engineer Kota, and officials from the Health Department, Public Works Department, Electrical Department, and other concerned agencies.
Considering the delay in commissioning the hospital, it was decided to start the Outpatient Department (OPD) on a trial basis from July 6 to July 14 to ensure that residents begin receiving healthcare services at the earliest. Following the formal inauguration, the hospital will become fully operational from July 16.
The 100-bed Sub-District Hospital will introduce its services in phases. Initially, the hospital will offer blood testing, X-ray, sonography, maternity services, and inpatient (IPD) facilities. This will be followed by minor and major surgeries, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and, in the future, a post-mortem facility.
The Maharashtra government has sanctioned 94 posts, including medical officers and other healthcare staff, for the hospital. The appointed personnel are expected to join before the inauguration.
According to officials, most of the work related to the main hospital building, OPD block, furniture, and electrical installations has been completed. Under the guidance of MLA Bapusaheb Pathare, Deputy Director of Health Services Dr Bhagwan Pawar, and District Civil Surgeon Dr Ambadas Devmane, the Medical Superintendent has decided to commence OPD services on a trial basis from July 6 to July 14. Citizens have been urged to make use of the facility during this period.
Speaking about the project, MLA Bapusaheb Pathare said his priority is to make the Lohgaon Sub-District Hospital fully operational at the earliest.
He said the hospital should not remain limited to OPD services but should evolve into a model healthcare facility equipped with advanced medical infrastructure, including surgical services, maternity care, ICU, NICU, comprehensive diagnostic facilities, and other specialised services.
He added that he is making continuous efforts to secure the necessary funds and expressed confidence that the hospital will soon provide accessible and quality healthcare to residents of Lohgaon and surrounding areas.
