Pune: Car Crashes Into Tree Near Sangamwadi, Two Injured; Driver Rescued by Fire Brigade

Sangamwadi, 30th July 2026: Two persons were injured after a car crashed into a large roadside tree near Parking No. 3 at Sangamwadi on Thursday, trapping both occupants inside the severely damaged vehicle.

According to fire brigade officials, the impact of the collision uprooted the tree, which fell onto the adjoining footpath. Passersby and motorists rushed to the scene and managed to rescue one of the occupants before emergency teams arrived.

Personnel from the Yerawada and Kasba fire stations, along with police and local citizens, launched a rescue operation to free the driver, whose leg was trapped between the steering column and the driver’s door. Firefighters used a manual spreader and ropes to carefully extricate the driver’s leg before handing the injured person over to the police for further medical treatment.

Police said both occupants of the car appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

The car, a white Toyota bearing registration number MH12 YH 5569, sustained extensive damage in the crash.

Further investigation into the incident is underway.
