Pune, 16th September 2026: A long-pending hurdle in the widening of the road connecting Sade-Satranali railway gate to the Manjari-Keshavnagar area has been cleared after a landowner agreed to provide his property for the project.

The road widening had been delayed for years due to the unavailability of land. Amol Nana Tupe and his family have now made the required privately owned land available, allowing the authorities to begin the widening work.

The move comes amid growing population and traffic in the area, with local representatives saying the widened road is expected to ease congestion and improve connectivity for residents.

Hadapsar-Manjari ward committee chairman Prashant Tupe and local corporators had been pursuing the matter with the landowner. With the land now available, the concerned agencies have started the widening work.

“There was continuous follow-up with Nana Tupe, and he responded positively. The ward committee chairman and fellow corporators also pursued the matter. We are now approaching forest department officials to seek additional land for widening the road on the other side,” said Dr Dada Kodre, standing committee member of the Pune Municipal Corporation.

A portion along the road is under the forest department. Local representatives said efforts are underway to secure the land from the department and widen the road further.
