No Complete Lockdown in Pune or Dhayari: Mayor Murlidhar Mohol
Pune, September 6, 2020: Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol today clarified again that there is no order for complete lockdown in Pune. Only micro-containment zones (building, chawl, lane etc) are created wherever more than five COVID cases are detected.
Since the last few days, when Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) released a fresh list of micro-containment zones, there were rumours on social media and WhatsApp groups that there will be lockdown in Pune. However, PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar and now Mayor Mohol have clarified that there is no order or plan for complete lockdown in Pune now.
Also, Sinhgad Road ward office had issued an order for a complete shutdown in Dhayari from September 7, but this order will be cancelled. Only micro-containment zones are allowed, not the lockdown of the entire area. In the micro-containment zones, there is a restriction on the movement of people, and essential commodities shops are allowed for limited hours.
